What is pilates?
Pilates is a low impact exercise that promotes and protects health. It focusses on mobilising the spine, strengthening the core and improving posture, balance, coordination and focus. Through carefully planned exercises pilates teaches you how to breathe, move and strengthen your mind and body. Practising these movements helps adults and children to be stronger physically and emotionally in order to be fit for life.

“Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.” Joseph PIlates
What is STOTT PILATES®?
I am a STOTT PILATES® certified instructor. STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by Joseph Pilates. It was developed by Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, along with a team of fitness professionals and it improves core strength and balances the muscles around the joints, improving the way the body functions, looks and feels.
In STOTT Pilates there are 5 basic principles: Breathing, Pelvic placement, Rib cage placement, Scapula movement stabilisation and Head and Cervical placement. These basic principles along with the carefully planned exercises help everyone young or old, with different levels of fitness and ability, develop and improve their body and mind. These exercises will help you to feel revitalised and move with ease.
